Sunday October 20th St Luke's Day

Sunday October 20th St Luke's Day

Welcome to Church! This morning is a special day when we celebrate St Luke's Day with a wonderful morning tea after the service.

We continue our series from Philippians called "The Christian Life". This series will focus on what difference faith in Christ makes.

Our Senior Minister Rev Peter MacPherson will lead the service and our Associate minister Rev Mark Simon (both pictured) will lead the service and preach from the passage Philippians 3:10-21 with the theme of Transformed In Christ.

Welcome to St Luke’s today. If you are new or visiting, we are glad you are with us and we pray you are blessed and encouraged in your faith.
Today is the day we celebrate St Luke’s life and ministry. Luke was a doctor and careful historical writer who wrote one of the gospels and after accompanying Paul during some of his gospel-sharing trips, wrote the book of Acts. Luke gave special prominence to Jesus’ power to heal sickness in his gospel, and Luke also highlighted Jesus’ concern for justice, especially for the poor and those on the fringes of society.
We will enjoy a special morning tea after the service to celebrate St Luke’s Day.
Prayer of the day
Almighty God, who inspired your servant Luke the physician to set forth in his gospel the love and healing power of your Son: graciously continue in your Church this love and power to heal, to the praise and glory of your name; through Jesus Christ our
Lord, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Everyone is welcome! We have extra special refreshments after the service, and we would love to spend time with you.
